The Dallas Museum of Art's exhibition My|gration invited visitors to experience the world from another person's perspective, exploring how life and art are affected by immigration and displacement.
As graphic designer for this exhibition, I worked closely with the exhibition designer to create an immersive and inspiring space. Together we developed an atmospheric color palette drawn from the natural rhythm of the earth's journey around the sun, the warm oranges and cool violets of dawn and dusk.
I started with an illustrated map of Dallas, zooming in and rendering it in the color of earth: a rusty, warm bronze. I laid it along the bottom of the entry walls, with a sunset gradient fading into a starry night sky above. I also illustrated a compass rose to represent the many directions life can take us.
